Who owns what, and how to report infringement.

Pulse is built by Cloverfields-Tech. The app and the brand are ours; what you post stays yours. If something on Pulse infringes your copyright, this page is how you get it taken down.

What we own

The Pulse mobile applications, the getpulse.chat website, and everything that makes them up — source code, design system, interface, illustrations, photography we commissioned, copy, and the sounds the app makes — are owned by Cloverfields-Tech or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property law.

You may not copy, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or create derivative works from any of it, or use it to build a competing service, except where that restriction is void under applicable law. Nothing here grants you a licence beyond the limited, personal right to use the app set out in our Terms of Service.

Trade marks

“Pulse”, the Pulse paw mark, and the Pulse wordmark are trade marks of Cloverfields-Tech. You may use them to refer to the app — in an article, a review, or a link — as long as you do not alter the mark, imply that we endorse or sponsor you, or use them in your own product, app icon, or domain name. Everything else needs our written permission, which you can ask for at cloverfields.tech@gmail.com.

What you own

Your content stays yours. Photos, moments, profile text, meetups and messages you create on Pulse belong to you, and we claim no ownership of them.

To run the service we need a narrow permission from you: a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit and display your content solely to operate, secure and support Pulse — showing your moment to the people you posted it to, putting your photo on your profile, delivering your message. The licence lasts as long as you keep the content on Pulse and ends when you delete it or delete your account, apart from copies we are required to keep for the limited periods set out in the Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content, licence it to third parties, or use it in advertising or to train machine learning models.

By posting, you confirm you have the rights to what you post. Do not upload other people's photos, music, artwork or writing without permission.

Reporting infringing content

If you own copyright in something and believe it has been posted on Pulse without your permission, send a notice to cloverfields.tech@gmail.com with Copyright in the subject line. To act on it we need all of the following:

Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address, and whether you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
Identification of the work you say has been infringed — a link to where you publish it, or a description clear enough for us to recognise it.
Identification of the material on Pulse you want removed, precise enough for us to find it: the share link, the username, and the date and time you saw it.
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
Your physical or electronic signature.

We acknowledge notices within 2 business days. Where a notice is complete and the claim is credible, we remove or disable access to the material and tell the person who posted it, passing on your notice so they can respond.

A notice that misrepresents the position can carry legal liability, including for the other side's costs. If you are not sure whether a use is infringing — quotation, parody, and fair dealing all exist — take advice before sending one.

If your content was removed and you disagree

Reply to the notice we sent you, or write to cloverfields.tech@gmail.com with Counter-notice in the subject line. Give us your name and contact details, identify the material and where it was, and state that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification. We will pass your counter-notice to the person who complained. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have started legal proceedings, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material are terminated. We also terminate immediately, without a strike count, for content that is clearly unlawful.

Third-party material we use

Pulse is built on open source software, and the licence notices for every library we ship are listed in the app under Settings → About → Open source licences.

Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence, served as vector tiles by OpenFreeMap. The map styling is ours.

People shown in imagery on this website are models, and the photographs are licensed stock unless credited otherwise. They are not Pulse users and the profiles pictured are illustrative.
